… because character matters
Why do certain characters in stories move us more than others? What is it about their actions and personalities that make us stop and listen? What motivates them to do the things they do and why are many of them our heroes?
Character Coaching is a dynamic four-day program which sets out to help kids answer these questions about the various characters that matter to them. Each day a KidsCAN Theatre Company Drama Mama will welcome participants to the Zoom platform to discuss their favorite character, be it from a book, movie, tv, or video game, etc.
Together, the kids will imaginatively explore their characters and in so doing will learn something new about themselves. Further creativity will lead them to the development of their own original characters, followed by a co-created script which will be presented on the last day.
Through this experiential workshop they will have contact with other youth, problem-solve, as well as learn and feel good about themselves, while having fun (even in a pandemic!).
